Dental and Orthodontic Services
Poorly aligned teeth are more than just a “smile” problem. Crooked teeth can cause gum problems, tooth decay, and even tooth loss. Many patients with crooked teeth also suffer with poor self esteem and reduced confidence in their overall appearance. Flatirons Dental and Orthodontics in Superior, Colorado can help you overcome that.
If you cover your mouth when you smile, feel like your teeth are unattractive or that they don’t fit together quite right when you bite, contact us to set up a consultation with our trained staff. We will help you decide the best way for you to solve the problem.
If you have a small amount of crowding or small spaces, we may be able to do invisalign express. This usually takes about 4-5 months at a reduced fee. To find out if invisalign or invisalign express is right for you, contact us for a complimentary consultation today.
Sometimes invisalign isn’t the best choice to fix more severe problems. This is why we offer a faster braces alternative. Whether you just want a fast improvement in your smile or complete correction of a malocclusion (or “bad bite”), we can help you. Gentle constant pressure of the wire on the bracket will safely and comfortably move your teeth fairly quickly. We don’t “tighten” your braces. We have helped our patients from 8 to 88 years old achieve the smile they dream of. It is a good idea to bring in your children by age 6 for an evaluation in order to detect and correct any problems that could become more severe if left untreated. Early treatment can usually shorten the length of treatment that may be needed later. Contact us to schedule an appointment now to find out the best way to give you a great smile.
The TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) connects your lower jaw to your skull. This complex joint allows your jaw to hing and slide when you open your mouth. Any limitation in the ability to open, popping or clicking noise, pain, ringing in the ears, locking open or closed, constant headaches, or grinding of teeth are all symptoms of TMJ problems. If you suffer from any of these TMJ symptoms, contact us today for a consultation. Together we will create a plan to correct the problem and alleviate the symptoms.
TMJ Treatment
Depending on the cause of the TMJ problem, there are different treatment options available. After a thorough exam, Dr. Kraft will determine the cause of the TMJ symptoms and recommend treatment. First, we want to alleviate pain and restore normal joint fucntion and motion. Once this is accomplished, we will stabilize the joint using one of the following methods:
- Occlusal bite splint, a custom made and fit, removable guard that fits over the teeth
- Orthodontic bite correction with braces
- Reshaping and repositioning teeth with crowns.
In rare cases, we may recommend surgical correction only if other conservative approaches mentioned above fail to completely solve the problem. Here at Flatirons Dental and Orthodontics, we have helped many patients in throughout the Front Range find relief to this debilitating problem. Contact us today for a TMJ evaluation.
